Account Setup
Create your account and configure your profile.
Setting up a Barrion account unlocks the full dashboard, scan history, continuous monitoring, and integrations. This guide covers registration, verification, and initial configuration.
Registration
Navigate to barrion.io/register and choose one of the following sign-up methods:
- Email -- Enter your email address. Barrion emails you a link where you confirm the address and choose a password.
- Google OAuth -- Sign in with your Google account for single-click registration.
- Microsoft OAuth -- Sign in with your Microsoft account.
Social sign-in (Google or Microsoft) skips the email verification step since your email is already verified by the identity provider.
Email Verification
If you register with email, Barrion sends a verification link to your address. Open it on any device, choose a password, and your account is active. The link works once and expires after 72 hours.
Check your spam or junk folder if you do not receive the verification email within a few minutes. If a link has expired, sign up again with the same email and Barrion sends a new one.
Profile Settings
After signing in, navigate to your account settings to configure your profile:
- Name -- Your display name shown across the platform.
- Phone number -- Optional contact number for your profile.
- Password -- Update your password at any time from the security section of your account settings. This option is available only for email/password accounts.
Notification Preferences
Configure how and when Barrion notifies you about security findings. Notification options depend on your plan:
Vulnerability Alerts
Receive notifications when a scan detects new vulnerabilities or when previously failing checks are resolved. Available channels:
- Email -- Available on Essential and Business plans.
- Slack -- Available on Business plan.
- Microsoft Teams -- Available on Business plan.
Summary Reports
Receive periodic summary reports of your security posture. Configure the reporting interval based on your monitoring needs.
Notification Intervals
Control how frequently you receive notifications to avoid alert fatigue. Set intervals that match your team's review cadence.
Email alerts come with Essential. Slack and Teams notifications require the Business plan.
